Ted Marks

New Orleans Center for Creative Arts

Ted Marks is an archaeologist specializing in the Middle Stone Age of southern Africa. 

He has worked in Namibia for over a decade, focusing in Mirabeb Rock Shelter and the surrounding Middle and Later Stone Age sites.

Ted is currently a co-director of the Survey and Archaeology of the Namib Desert Surface (SANDS) project in the Namib Sand Sea and region.

Ted holds a Ph.D. from the University of Iowa and teaches at the New Orleans Center for Creative Arts.
