Training is one of the major activities at Gobabeb. During the July-October training season Gobabeb has over 1,000 people attending courses that last from one day up to several months.

 

Training groups range from primary and secondary school groups to tertiary and Master's students. Schools and universities from all over the world visit Gobabeb during this time to learn more about arid environments and the research that Gobabeb conducts.

Gobabeb's Training and Research Internship Programme (GTRIP) is another key aspect of training at Gobabeb. GTRIP includes placement internships as well as the four- to six-month GTRIP Course during which students and recent graduates undertake independent research projects and attend a variety of workshops and lectures.
