FLC Trains Namib-Naukluft MET Officers

This week, eight MET officials from Zais, Sesriem, and Ganab stations attended the FLC training programme, Ecological Monitoring and Management of the Namib Sand Sea. During the week's lectures, activities, and field trips, participants discussed the types of ecological monitoring necessary in the Namib Sand Sea World Heritage Site,

including existing challenges to maintaining the environment from tourism in the area. Participants also learned from Gobabeb researchers about the ecology of the Namib Sand Sea, and the importance of collaboration for effective management of the environment.

Thank you to our participants and MET for the opportunity to engage and collaborate on the conservation of Namib-Naukluft Park and the Namib Sand Sea World Heritage Site. We're looking forward to the second MET training in November!
